Children can begin school at Hope & Joy Montessori when they are 33 months old and actively potty training or trained.
Our school runs five days a week, September through June. We offer both half and full day options for students in Preschool. Our Kindergarten program is full day. In the summer, we offer a weekly camp program running June through August.
No. Though we rent our school space from a church and share values of peace and social justice, we are not a faith based school.
As a whole, Montessori schools are not religious schools and educate all children regardless of their backgrounds of faith or culture. Because of this, Montessori classrooms exhibit a high degree of diversity - welcoming individuals from various cultures, ethnicity, and religious traditions.
We acknowledge that toilet training is a unique experience for every child and family. Children should be actively potty training or trained. Accidents may happen and we will work with parents to help the child through them.
Children under 4, who spend the day with us are given the opportunity to rest after lunch. Sleeping is not required. After thirty minutes, any non-napping children may get up and rejoin the class.
We enjoy all the seasons at Hope & Joy Montessori and spend a goodly amount of time outdoors - sunshine, rain or snow! We will ask you to keep rain and snow gear at school, depending on the season. We do not go outside if the temperature is dangerously cold or hot, during significant weather events, or air quality alerts. Connection to nature is an important part of our day.
A current tuition & fees sheet can be downloaded here. As a nonprofit organization, it is our goal to keep tuition accessible. Financial aid may be available.
